About

The Fayetteville Cultural Arts Corridor continues our community’s efforts to revitalize and invigorate downtown Fayetteville with increased accessibility and inclusiveness.

Say hello to your new playground.

Take a deep breath and enjoy an urban forest right in the heart of downtown Fayetteville. Look for the perfect place to relax outside or catch up on some work as you ride your bike down the Greenway. Have a coffee. People watch before the big home game. Admire a clear rushing creek as you meet up with friends before a performance or dinner out. The new Cultural Arts Corridor will continue our community’s efforts to revitalize and invigorate downtown Fayetteville with increased accessibility and inclusiveness.

What?

What is it? 50 acres in the heart of the city that is being transformed into a public outdoor destination featuring parks, forest, trails, boardwalks, tree-lined sidewalks, terraced creeks and gathering spaces.

Where?

Where is it? Five primary areas will make up the Cultural Arts Corridor-Civic Plaza, The Fay Jones Woods, Razorback Greenway, West Streetscapes & West Street Parking Deck.

How?

How do we use it? Well, that’s entirely up to you. For some, it’s the preservation of a native ecosystem. For some, it’s the urban wild. For some, it’s a hub for anything we can collectively imagine.

The Fayetteville Cultural Arts Corridor is only the beginning of a vital connection to our downtown arts and entertainment district. We want you to fill in the rest.

Civic Plaza

The parking lot between the Walton Arts Center and George’s Majestic will transform into an expansive park with plenty of gardens, shade, and places to sit. This flexible and dynamic outdoor space will become a downtown centerpoint, supporting local art exhibitions, music and other community and cultural programming.

The Fay Jones Woods

Located between West and Gregg Avenues adjacent to the Fayetteville Public Library, the Fay Jones Woods will provide a literal breath of fresh air in downtown. Elevated boardwalks, overlooks and bridges, accessible trails, gathering spaces and access to the restored Tanglewood Branch Creek, these woods will celebrate the Ozarks ecosystem while preserving native forest.

Razorback Greenway

Improvements like repaving, new signalizations at key crossing, pedestrian and bicycle-friendly lighting, and importantly new trail connections to surrounding streets, will transform this section of Greenway into a vital artery of downtown.

West Streetscapes

Improvements like new sidewalks, street trees, lighting, traffic calming, parking and rain gardens will improve walkability and further connect The Fay Jones Woods and Civic Plaza.

West Street Parking Deck

Expanded parking will be located on the Depot lot, providing over 300 parking spaces for all manner of escapades downtown as well as house a police substation and retail space at street level.
